A Level results 2019
Grades: A* - 13% A*-A: 37% A*- B: 61% A*- C: 79%
Students at Norwich High School for Girls are celebrating another year of great A Level results, with over one-third of all grades at A*- A.
Particular subject successes have included:
Many girls enjoyed terrific individual successes, with particular congratulations to two girls who received straight A*s. Deputy Head Girl, Freya Irving, received 3 A*s in Art and Design, English Literature, Geography and also an A* in her EPQ, and will be reading English Literature at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Nikki Kerdegari, who is one of the founding members of the Inspiring Females programme and spoke at this year’s Summit at Chelsea Football Club, received straight A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and her EPQ. She will be going to King’s College London to read Medicine.
Emily Green achieved A*s in History, Politics and her EPQ, plus two As in French and Mathematics, and will take up her place to read History at Cambridge. Head Girl Lottie Gibson and Company Captain Helena Nieto excelled in Modern Foreign Languages and achieved A*s in French & German, and French & Spanish respectively.
One of our many successful artists includes Raffaella Dickins-Eastick who received an A* in Art and Design, as well as As in French and History. We wish her the very best of luck as she takes a gap year.
Eloise Richmond, who joined the school from Reepham High School only two years ago and has been featured as part of the new GDST brand campaign, is going to Durham University to read Archaeology and Ancient Civilisations after gaining As in Classical Civilisation and Religious Studies, and a B in Drama.
Kirsty von Malaisé, Headmistress commented on the girls’ successes:
“We are all so proud of all the girls’ individual performances and all that they have brought to our school community and congratulate them and the staff on their results. There have been so many delighted faces this morning as girls have gained places on their preferred higher education courses. They have achieved all this whilst being fully engaged in extraordinary extra-curricular opportunities and initiatives such as our Inspiring Females programme, and this wonderful cohort will be sorely missed. We look forward to hearing about their ongoing successes in the very near future.”
