Sixth Form Subjects
Our academic programme goes well beyond the A Level curriculum in order to provide a rich and varied set of learning opportunities to extend and enrich your time in the Sixth Form. We recommend that girls choose three of the following subjects when they join us – two that will help them progress on to the degree course they wish, and one to follow an additional passion they may have:
• Business Studies
• Drama and Theatre Studies
• Design Technology
• English Literature
• Extended Project Qualification
• General Studies
• Physical Education
• Politics and Government
• Religious Studies (Philosophy and Ethics)
Each girl in the Upper Sixth has the opportunity to do an extension class in a subject of their choice. This class runs for the entirety of the year and is an opportunity for Upper Sixth girls to study areas of interest beyond the confines of the curriculum.
By nature, these classes are small and the students in them have applied to read a related subject at university. They are designed to help bridge the gap between School and University study.
Norwich High School girls are renowned for their boundless energy and enthusiasm in all they undertake.
There is a wide range of opportunities for fun, adventure and challenge, with committed and enthusiastic teachers who help bring the curriculum to life. We are proud of our sense of community. Girls are expected to take responsibility, to consider others and pull together as a team.

Every year, Norwich High School welcomes applicants to our Senior School and Sixth Form to apply for a scholarship. We are looking to reward girls who show exceptional ability and potential in a number of disciplines.
Scholarships are awarded on merit and are available to girls entering Upper III (Year 7), Upper IV (Year 9) and Lower VI (Year 12). Successful applicants will remain Scholars throughout their time at Norwich High School.
Applications for scholarships should be submitted in the Autumn Term prior to your daughter’s year of entry.
Bursaries also take into account academic merit and are means-tested according to parental income.
Most bursaries for full fees will be awarded to girls from families with a total income of less than £35,000 and with no capital assets other than their home. Post entry bursaries can be considered at key stages, subject to budget. It is highly unlikely that a bursary would be awarded to a family whose annual income is greater than £85,000.
Bursaries for less than full fees will be awarded on a graded scale, according to parental income. Bursaries are reassessed annually.
