Supporting our School
Since I joined Norwich High School, I have been astounded by the generosity of those who have supported our school in so many ways.
For example, our girls have benefited hugely from the generosity of those who contribute to our Project Fund, with funds so far being used to buy new books for our school library, an infra-red camera for the physics department and some fantastic new musical instruments.
By donating to our Bursary Fund, girls of ability have been given access to the outstanding education that Norwich High School offers, regardless of their individual circumstances.
A personal highlight has to be our newly revitalised Senior School library which was only made possible by a kind legacy from one of our old girls.
The NHSA (our school association) continues to create fun and exciting fundraising events for our whole school community to enjoy, as well as providing fantastic services such as our Secondhand Uniform Shop and afternoon teas at our Sports Days.
Your generous support makes a real difference to the lives of all our girls – I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has volunteered their time and donated kindly to our school.

Donating to our Bursary Fund
Our Bursary Fund continues to support bright and keen girls who may not have been able to access an education at Norwich High School. This has only been made possible because of kind donations from our supporters and alumnae.
A gift to this fund will make a real difference to a girl’s life, allowing her to have an education which will prepare them for the world’s challenges and succeed.
To see how a Bursary can really transform a girl’s life, watch the video above about how a GDST bursary helped propel Dr Bethan James on to a career in astronomy.
Donating to our
By contributing to our Project Fund, you can support a wide variety of projects which will be appreciated throughout our school community. Currently, we are fundraising for the following projects:
Our Rowing Club has been making waves at the school this year, participating in the prestigious Women’s Eight Head competition and recently setting a GB indoor record for the ultra-marathon distance of 100,000m. We aim to support this sport, which our girls are very passionate about, by using our Annual Fund to pay for new boats and equipment.
New Musical Instruments
Our Music Department continues to develop a programme which is both ambitious and diverse. Girls are encouraged to follow their interests, take up new challenges and feed their passions. To offer girls a wider range of performance opportunities, we would like to use our Annual Fund to purchase new musical instruments such as a bassoon, a double bass and a selection of half-size violins.
To donate to our Project Fund click on the following link, where you can set up a regular Direct Debit or make a single gift.
You will also be able to choose if you want to donate specifically to our Bursary Fund or our Projects Fund.
Whether it’s £5 per month or a one-off donation of £500, whatever
you are able to afford will be greatly appreciated and will make a real difference to the girls of Norwich High School.
Thank you for your generous support.
The Bettelheim Library –
a lasting legacy
We have been able to transform our school library into a space which is modern, functional and flexible, and retains so much of our important heritage. This redevelopment has only been made possible thanks to a generous legacy left to us by one of our old girls, Franziska Bettelheim.
Quiet corners, snuggle stores and seating within the bookcases gives each girl a place to discover and immerse themselves in a book undisturbed. The new library is linked to the historic Jameson Library by an impressive circular archway, which has also been renovated as a part of this project.
Our girls were actively involved in designing this space which is proving to be a great success, and is now being enjoyed and used by everyone within Norwich High School. The video above shows this amazing space and the difference it has made to all of our girls.
Leaving your legacy
Remembering Norwich High School in your will is one of the most personal and significant ways you can help our school.
All legacy gifts, whatever type or size, play a vital role in our work and even a small percentage of an estate can have a transformative impact.
You could enable talented girls, no matter their background, to receive the opportunity of a GDST education by contributing to our Bursary Fund or choosing to donate to an area of the school which is particularly special to you.
We are hugely indebted to those who have recognised the importance of providing for the long term financial support of Norwich High School and the GDST in this way.
If you want to find out more information on how to leave a legacy gift to the GDST please contact Janice Larden-Price on 0207 393 6607.
The Norwich High School Association (NHSA)
The Norwich High School Association (NHSA) is the equivalent of the PTA in other schools. It is very active and exceptionally well supported by parents, girls and staff.
In 2016/17, the NHSA raised over £15,000 – an amazing achievement and thank you to all who contributed.
Using funds raised over the last two years, the NHSA has given
the School grants for the following things which the School budget would not otherwise cover, including:
