What is the true foundation of academic success? It isn’t just homework or test scores. It’s the deep, psychological belief that you matter – that your presence adds value, that your teachers care about you and that your voice is significant.
This concept, “Mattering,” is the first Golden Thread of our teaching ethos. We know that for many young people, and especially for girls who may face pressures of perfectionism, the fear of not being good enough can lead to loneliness or isolation. It can stop them from raising their hand, trying a new subject or asking for help.
Our ethos actively combats this. By focusing on Mattering, we make it our mission to ensure every student feels seen, heard and valued.
