They have balanced their studies with a vibrant array of co-curricular activities, from sports and arts to community service, which has been instrumental in their well-being and overall achievement. These girls are not just excellent students; they are impressive leaders, including those who have contributed significantly through the School Council, and wonderful role models for the entire school community. Their ability to thrive in all aspects of school life is truly inspiring.”

We are also proud to highlight some of the individual successes within this year’s results:

A huge congratulations to Sepideh, Paniz and Momina, who each gained straight grade 9s for their GCSEs. Momina also achieved a Distinction* in the Level 2 Cambridge National Certificate in Enterprise and Marketing through a twilight course, with Sepideh achieving a Distinction, a testament to their exceptional drive. Momina, who received the Dr. Rutledge Memorial Prize for Fifth Form Science at the July Prizegiving Ceremony, also gained a grade 9 in her Level 2 AQA Further Mathematics Certificate. Well done to Annie and Immy who both gained 100% 9-7 grades including a grade 9 for English Language.
We also celebrate Emily, who has truly flourished since joining us in Year 10, achieving a Grade 9 in GCSE Geography, History and English Language.
Demonstrating Resilience
“This cohort of students has shown immense resilience, having been in Year 7 during the Covid-19 pandemic and navigating the challenges of remote learning and disrupted social bonds during their transition into senior education. We are delighted that they have emerged stronger, achieving fantastic results across the board. Our small class sizes, where we know each student well, were instrumental in providing the guidance and support needed to thrive.”
Matt Bradshaw, Deputy Head Academic
Fantastic Achievements in STEM, Arts & Humanities
This year’s results show particular strengths in our STEM subjects, with all of our Triple Science results for Biology, Chemistry and Physics at 75% 9-8. There are also excellent results in Computer Science, with 50% 9-8 grades and further success in Design Technology – Product Design, with 46% 9-8 grades.
Bucking national trends, the students have gained fantastic results in languages and music, demonstrating their passion for creativity and communication. In French, 52% of students achieved 9-8 and 74% 9-7. Similarly, in Music, 50% of our grades were 9-8. Our Humanities subjects also performed exceptionally well, with 55% 9-8 in Classical Civilisation, 52% 9-8 in History and 50% 9-8 in Geography. Finally, a remarkable 73% of our students achieved 9-8 in English Language.
For the first time this year, Norwich High School for Girls offered the Level 2 Cambridge National Certificate in Enterprise and Marketing as a weekly twilight course and we are incredibly proud of the ten students who completed this significant undertaking. As an extra to their core studies, they demonstrated impressive dedication, achieving outstanding results: two distinction*s, four distinctions and four merits. This hands-on, practical course challenged them with two pieces of coursework and examined assessments, where they developed vital real-world skills. From coming up with a product idea and creating a marketing campaign to pitching to a panel of judges and handling financial costing, they have honed their design and creativity. Their hard work has given them valuable skills for their future endeavours.
