Norwich High School for Girls welcomes three new Language Assistants

Posted on 6th November 2025

Meet our Language Assistants:

Larisa (German), Luca (French) and Martina (Spanish).

We are delighted to welcome our three new Language Assistants, Luca (French), Martina (Spanish) and Larisa (German), who are joining the Norwich High family this year. They will be providing one-to-one support for language students, helping them prepare for the speaking exams and develop their conversation skills. Our Language Assistants will also provide valuable cultural insights, explaining customs and traditions from their countries and providing helpful examples and illustrations.

We asked each of them to briefly introduce themselves…

Luca, French Language Assistant

Bonjour! I am Luca, I’m 22 years old, and I’m the new French assistant for the year 2025–26! I come from Nantes, a city in the northwest of France near Brittany. It is a very important city in France, known for its rich cultural and historical heritage. I am a huge cinema and music enthusiast, and I will be very happy to incorporate these passions into my lessons to make learning French as engaging and enjoyable as possible!

I’m really looking forward to working at Norwich High School for Girls, as this experience is important for me to discover whether teaching is the right path for me and to gain valuable experience living abroad in an English-speaking country.

Martina, Spanish Language Assistant

¡Hola! My name is Martina, I’m 25 years old, and I’m the Spanish language assistant here at Norwich High School for Girls. I was born in Tenerife, in a lovely coastal town called El Médano.

It has always been my dream to live in an English speaking country, not only to improve my English, but also to learn more about the culture and way of life. I’m passionate about nature and dancing, and before coming here, I worked as a teacher in Tenerife for two years.

I’m truly excited to be part of this wonderful community and to live such an amazing experience here at Norwich High School for Girls!

Larisa, German Language Assistant

Hello and Servus! My name is Larisa, I’m 27 years old, and I’ll be the German language assistant this year. I’m from Vienna, the capital of Austria, and I’m really looking forward to working at Norwich High School for Girls.

As someone who loves to travel, I find living in another country to be an incredible experience. It allows you to truly immerse yourself in a different culture and a different way of life. I previously completed a four-month internship in Japan, where I worked with university students who were learning German. This has taught me a lot and I’m looking forward to leaning even more in Norwich! I’m very excited to start this new chapter!
