Norwich High School for Girls is pleased to continue our partnership with local charity Nelson’s Journey.

We are delighted to announce that Norwich High School for Girls has become a School Friend of Nelson’s Journey, a local charity that provides crucial bereavement support to children and families.

This initiative recognises Norwich High’s commitment to creating a safe space for children to talk, delivering bereavement activities and having staff attend professional training on bereavement.

This year, we have continued hosting a bereavement support group, held monthly in our Wellbeing Lodge. This provides a space for students to come together and find comfort from each other through talking, listening, or simply being present.

Deputy Head Pastoral, Mrs Dolding, comments: “We recognise the profound importance of offering compassionate care to those experiencing loss, and this partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the well-being of our school community.

“Our Wellbeing Lodge serves as a safe space for students, where they can find solace and receive the support they need during difficult times. We look forward to welcoming Nelson’s Journey to speak at an upcoming assembly, where they will share their expertise and guidance on coping with grief.”

“In the past, we have held fundraisers for Nelson’s Journey, and we are deeply grateful for their previous visits and the invaluable resources they provide. As we strengthen our ties with this vital charity, we are excited about the positive impact this collaboration will have on our students and families. Together, we are fostering a compassionate, supportive environment where no one has to face loss alone.”
