Norwich High School for Girls to host Alliance Française East Anglia as they expand their French tuition from Cambridge into Norwich

Alliance Française to offer primary school level French classes in Norwich for the first time.

Norwich High School for Girls on Newmarket Road in Norwich is set to be the venue for a brand new series of French group classes for Primary School age children starting this September. The long established and well respected Alliance Française Cambridge is set to become Alliance Française East Anglia as they offer French classes in Norwich for the first time.

Catherine Gibson, Head of Modern Foreign Languages at Norwich High School for Girls said: “We are delighted to welcome the ‘Alliance Française’ to Norwich High School. The ‘Alliance Française’ has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality language teaching at all levels.”

“These beginners’ level classes for Primary School age children offer an amazing opportunity for children to gain confidence with languages in a fun and interactive way, at a particularly receptive age. Students also gain a greater appreciation of another culture.”

Independent and non-profit, the UK-wide network of Alliance Française centres aim to promote the French language and culture.

“Children from Reception to Year 6 will learn how to introduce themselves and others in French, as well as express their wishes, needs, and desires. They are encouraged to interact in French during the class through stories, songs, educational games and other fun activities.”

What happens in the Under 18 group classes?

  • Small group classes to learn French through tailored activities
  • Innovative French teaching techniques that make language-learning meaningful but enjoyable
  • Led by mother tongue French speakers and professional teachers

The 2022-2023 academic year starts on Saturday, September 3rd 2022 and will end on Saturday, July 15th 2023. Classes run from 9am-11am. Enrolment is available throughout the year.
