Norwich Book Festival, 24th-31st October 2025.

Norwich High School for Girls is delighted to announce its participation in the Norwich Book Festival 2025, an eight-day celebration of stories for all readers in England’s first UNESCO City of Literature. The festival brings together nationally renowned authors, local literary organisations and passionate readers for a diverse programme of talks, workshops and interactive experiences.

As part of the festival’s free public programme, Norwich High School for Girls will be a featured stall at The Imaginarium, a space dedicated to creativity, stories and imagination at The Forum from October 26-28, 2025.

Our stall will be open to families with children aged 11 and under on Tuesday 28th October, from 10am to 4pm. We will offer a variety of hands-on and interactive activities designed to inspire a love of reading and champion female authors and book characters. Attendees can get creative with a bookmark-making station, learn to write poetry with our blackout poetry activity and test their literary knowledge with interactive games like “Guess Who” and “Match the First Line.” We’ll also have activities for budding artists, inviting them to illustrate scenes or re-design book covers.

Norwich High School for Girls Librarian Katie Smith shared her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Reading is about more than just words on a page; it’s about discovering new worlds, meeting incredible characters and finding a little bit of yourself in every story. We hope these activities, which empower girls by championing female authors and book characters, will help foster a lifelong love of reading and creativity in everyone who visits our stand.”

“The Imaginarium is a joyful celebration of stories and imagination and we’re so pleased to have Norwich High School for Girls bringing its creativity to the space. The activities on offer are a brilliant way for young readers to connect with books, explore new ideas and have fun with storytelling.”

Ailsa McKay, Event Producer (Norwich Book Festival).

The Norwich Book Festival is a landmark event for the city and we are thrilled to be contributing to its mission of celebrating stories and promoting a thriving culture of reading and writing. We look forward to a day of creativity and literary fun with the Norwich community.
