Norwich High School for Girls GDST has announced its scholarship and bursary application deadlines for prospective students seeking entry into the Sixth Form in September 2026. Hazel Packer, Director of Sixth Form, emphasised that the scholarships are designed to acknowledge and reward exceptional talent across various fields, including academic achievement, artistic expression, performing arts, product design and sport. Furthermore, means-tested bursaries are offered to cultivate an inclusive and diverse learning environment, providing life-changing prospects for recipients and enabling highly capable and driven female students from diverse backgrounds to join our vibrant girls-first school community.

The application deadlines to apply for Sixth Form scholarships at Norwich High School for Girls GDST are as follows:

Sport scholarship application deadline: Friday, 31st October, 2025
Academic excellence, art, performing arts and product design scholarship application deadline: Wednesday, 5th November, 2025

All Sixth Form scholarship assessments are scheduled for mid-November 2025.

The deadline for Sixth Form bursary applications is also Wednesday, 5th November, 2025.

To pursue a scholarship application, candidates should complete the online application form here and indicate their chosen scholarship area. The Registrar will then contact you. For bursaries, applicants are required to complete the online registration form here for their daughter and express their interest in a bursary. The Registrar will subsequently provide instructions on how to access the dedicated online bursary application with the GDST.

The impact of a Norwich High bursary is powerfully illustrated through the experience of a Class of 2025 Sixth Form student, who joined for Year 12 in September 2023.

For the bursary recipient, receiving the bursary was a moment of profound happiness and gratitude.

She has enjoyed a diverse range of subjects; Business, French and Maths. Her time in the Sixth Form has allowed her to cultivate a strong interest in business and related fields. A particularly impactful experience was participating in the LEAD programme. “Working together as a team, we designed a business idea and pitched it to professionals,” she explained. “It was a great experience, and it really strengthened my passion for the field.”

Attending a girls-only school has been a positive experience. “I really enjoyed it because everyone is so close and friendly,” she commented. “It has allowed me to gain a lot more confidence in myself, knowing I won’t be judged. My public speaking skills have also really improved since joining, as I’ve been encouraged to step out of my comfort zone.”

When asked about her favourite aspect of Norwich High, she highlighted the strong sense of community. “Since my first day, everyone has been so friendly and supportive,” she said. “I’ve always felt welcomed and encouraged by both my teachers and peers.”

When considering Sixth Form options, the family was drawn to Norwich High for multiple compelling reasons. The student’s mother explained, “The very high A Level results were a significant factor, as was the benefit of small class sizes. The school also boasts excellent facilities and a prime location, coupled with strong leadership and a genuinely safe environment.”

Discovering the availability of bursary places came through a Norwich High alumna, a connection that proved invaluable. Reflecting on her reaction upon hearing the news that her daughter had been awarded a bursary, she shared: “We were extremely happy and grateful. The school provided exceptional support throughout the entire application process.”

As a parent, her experience within the school community has been overwhelmingly positive. “It’s been amazing!” she exclaimed.

She listed several key benefits her daughter has gained through her time at Norwich High: “Confidence, a high-quality education, great personal attention, genuine friendships and unforgettable memories.”

She firmly believes in the importance of bursary awards. “They offer a fantastic opportunity for children from lower financial backgrounds to receive a superb education and be truly motivated for their dream future.” She wholeheartedly encourages others to apply for bursary places at Norwich High.
