Our Prep School community came together for an unforgettable afternoon of House Athletics for their own Sports Day. We kicked off the day in style, with a wonderful family barbecue which set the vibrant tone for the exciting competition to follow.

From our youngest competitors in Nursery all the way up to Year 6, it was fantastic to see every pupil participating in a run, a jump and a throw. The heat did not slow anyone down, if anything, the blazing sun seemed to fuel some truly amazing performances, with multiple school records created throughout the afternoon!

Our Senior School Sports Day was a great celebration of athletic achievement and teamwork, with a healthy amount of Norwich High School spirit. Across the day, students competed in track, field and rowing events. Showing immense enthusiasm and encouragement for one another, there was an evident sense of community.

The track events produced some outstanding performances, with several long-standing school records broken. Year 10 student, Emilia, delivered the standout track performance of the day, beating the 1500m record by five seconds. A remarkable achievement as the previous record had stood for more than 40 years!

Ultimately, Sports Day reminds us that House athletics is about so much more than just crossing the finish line first. Watching all of our Norwich High students, from our youngest in Nursery to our Sixth Formers, participate showed exactly how sport has the transformative ability to bring girls together. It builds a real sense of camaraderie and helps our girls find a shared confidence that stays with them long after they leave the track.
