Norwich High School for Girls Sixth Form student Izzy has created a pioneering new platform, JutJut. The website aims to revolutionise how 14-18 year olds discover and access career-defining opportunities, levelling the playing field for students everywhere.

Izzy, who joined Norwich High in Year 10, has been working tirelessly for over half a year to develop JutJut. She describes it as more than just a careers site – it’s an “opportunity feed,” designed to blend the engaging, scrollable energy of social media with the life-changing impact of curated opportunities.

The inspiration for JutJut struck Izzy after she was successfully awarded a prestigious LEAP scholarship last year, which she describes as “a truly life-changing opportunity”. LEAP is a leadership and entrepreneurship programme for young women and the award gave her access to business development skills and networking opportunities. Izzy says she realised how much luck was involved in finding the scholarship in the first place and she felt a deep sense of injustice that some students miss out simply because they don’t see the opportunities available.

Izzy took inspiration from LinkedIn’s professional networking style to create a platform for the younger generation. Built specifically for Gen-Z users, JutJut focuses on making discovery feel natural and exciting. JutJut’s home page is a ‘Discover Feed’, a generic list of opportunities pulled from across the web, ranging from work experience and summer schools to competitions and more. By making an account, users can use details such as their age, subject interests and career aspirations to create a personalised Discover Feed, featuring the opportunities most relevant to them.

The platform is a true blend of innovation, combining Izzy’s deep understanding of what Gen-Z wants with her father’s expertise in computer coding and AI. Currently, AI algorithms source opportunities, which Izzy then monitors and verifies. The process allows students to click on an opportunity for immediate access to application details, deadlines and more.

To get the project off the ground, Izzy secured a Young Changemaker grant through Unloc, a company that provides seed funding for young people’s ventures. This crucial grant of £1,000 helped her make the concept a reality and also provided access to a valuable mentor.

JutJut has already seen incredible early success, first through launching to Sixth Form students at Norwich High, but then going wider to students in the GDST and beyond. As of January 2026, the platform is beyond 1,700 users, with 2000 opportunities currently live on the site and 1,200 opportunities already ‘pinned’ to profiles. Izzy is now in the final stages of securing a second grant to invest further in the platform and envisions a future where organisations can post directly to the feed, building a stronger community focus and eventually transitioning into a mobile app.

Izzy reflects: “I’m not sure I would have come up with this idea if I didn’t come to Norwich High School for Girls, and it was great knowing I had the support of the school before I even began work on the project.”
