Head of Norwich High School for Girls, Alison Sefton, was delighted to be invited to speak at the inaugural Norwich SUPERWOMAN Fest 2022; a networking event centred around work and wellbeing, which took place at the Junkyard Market, Norwich this May.

Focusing on voices, connection and support for women, the event hosted a range of speakers across business, work, wellbeing and motivation to inform and inspire the festival attendees. There were also stands from businesses in everything from cyber security to creative design, and representatives from supportive communities and charities.

“I really enjoyed attending the Festival with colleagues from Norwich High School For Girls. I was honoured to be given the opportunity to present my talk, ‘Girls can take on the world: and so can you’, to attendees as part of the brilliant line up of speakers at the two day event.”

Alison added: “I have been hugely helped along my own varied career path by key individuals who empowered and supported me to push myself and accept new challenges. Through experiencing what a fantastic impact mentorship can have in this way, I am now in a position to offer mentoring to others – through networks which I belong to including Nelsonspirit and the HMC (The Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference), in my own workplace supporting peers or those aspiring to leadership, as well as with the Norwich High students themselves. I am passionate about building confidence, aspiration and resilience; championing women to enjoy their space and succeed by setting ambitious goals.”

Shelley Rudling, Creator of SUPERWOMAN Fest commented: “We wanted SUPERWOMAN Fest to be the kind of platform which would amplify women’s voices, perspectives and attitudes to work and everyday life. We gained a lot of wisdom; insight into how to make businesses and everyday life better. We hope to continue to encourage and inspire women to be who they are in and outside the work place.”
