Congratulations to the Year 11 students at Norwich High School for Girls GDST!

Congratulations to the Year 11 students at Norwich High School for Girls GDST who are celebrating and looking forward to starting their A Levels after receiving their GCSE results today.

“I am so proud of all our Year 11 students today. Well over a third of all grades gained were 9-8. As a year group they have supported each other and worked so well with teachers to reach this point in their education.”

Alison Sefton, Head of Norwich High School for Girls GDST

Alison continued: “Our inclusive ACTIVE approach to learning in the Senior School helps students be independent learners and also recognises the skills needed to ensure students become real world ready. These well rounded individuals have something important to contribute to their communities and they should be really proud of their achievements. Thank you to everyone who has helped the students including our excellent teaching staff, the wider pastoral team and their families.”

Head of Year 11 Rebecca Musson added: “I am thrilled with these results. This year group nationally have had to overcome so many challenges following the covid pandemic. Having undertaken their Key Stage 3 learning through the lockdowns has had a significant impact in terms of the foundations of core subjects including Maths, English, Science and the Languages. Our brilliant students have met every challenge with tenacity, resilience, good humour and energy. Having sat these public examinations and moved through this stage in their education will set them in good stead for their future both in the Sixth Form and beyond. They will be able to explore subjects they are passionate about in more detail and grasp new opportunities to stretch themselves as they think about what their future career path might look like. I know they will rise to future challenges, both pastorally and academically, in the same impressive manner.”
