Norwich High School for Girls has launched their latest scholarship and bursary campaign for the Year 12 September 2023 intake.

Norwich High School for Girls has launched their latest scholarship and bursary campaign offering opportunities for Year 11 students who demonstrate excellent academic potential to secure subsidised places at its Sixth Form for the Year 12 September 2023 intake.

Norwich High School for Girls, an independent girls’ school based on Newmarket Road near the city centre, offers scholarships to recognise distinctive academic ability or special talent in art, performing arts, product design or sport. The means-tested bursaries are a reduction in fees for highly able and well-motivated prospective students who would otherwise be unable to attend the school.

Director of Sixth Form, Hazel Packer, commented: “We are so pleased to once again launch our scholarship and bursary opportunities to welcome new students who show real potential. If you have a genuine love of learning then Norwich High is the place for you.

“I would heartily encourage passionate and gifted students from the county to apply for an art, performing arts, product design or sport scholarship, or a transformative and life-changing bursary to our Sixth Form. You will be able to combine academic rigor and challenge with a range of fantastic opportunities for leadership. Our stand alone home in Lanchester House is modern, spacious and light. This is an inclusive community with a forward-looking culture where we invest in each individual to reach their full potential.”

Alison Sefton, Head of Norwich High School for Girls, said: “It is incredibly exciting to relaunch our scholarship and bursary programme for the 2023/24 academic year and to welcome applications. We aim to be an access enabler: seeking out talented girls who can benefit from a Norwich High School for Girls education. If your daughter would benefit from a Norwich High School for Girls education but your family is not in a position to cover the full fees, you may be eligible for a bursary. Some of our most inspiring students joined the school through this scheme and we cannot wait to see who the next successful candidates will be.”

Bursary funding

Norwich High School for Girls is part of the GDST network which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2022. Each year, the GDST supports around 1,000 pupils across the school network through bursaries, and future fundraising for this will be a key focus of the 150 year celebration.

“At Norwich High School for Girls, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment for our students. Our bursaries, open to all prospective students, are means-tested and may be given in addition to a scholarship. These bursaries are vital in enabling more students from differing backgrounds to join our school community.”
