Norwich High Celebrates Equestrian Success throughout the Year

Posted on 20th July 2023

It has been another busy year for our Norwich High Equestrian Team, with individual and group competitions taking place throughout the year and more to come.

Throughout this year, students from Years 7 to 13 have represented the school at regional events run by National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA), with the goal being to qualify for national events against schools from across the UK.

In October, we had team representation at the NSEA Championship Plate in Buckinghamshire. Norwich High students achieved both team and individual qualifications to represent the school at the NSEA National Championships and the NSEA Championship Plate events to be held in Buckinghamshire in October.

NSEA also ran a winter series of pop-up dressage competitions (virtual dressage judged professionally). Several pupils represented the school throughout the winter in these competitions, with Eve winning the series in her group and qualifying for the National Championships in October.

Well done to Chloe, Evie, Kate and Bethany, who won their event at the British Showjumping Just for Schools Finals in Warwickshire. The squad have committed to competing at regional British Showjumping school events throughout the year to gain enough points to represent the school again at Stoneleigh in August. They are currently in the top 8 places on the national school leagues for all height competitions. Kate, Bethany and Evie are also currently in the top 8 on individual national school league tables.

A team also qualified to represent the school and Norfolk at the NSEA County Championships at Hickstead in Sussex and the Hickstead Eventers Challenge Championships.

We are looking forward to seeing what the next academic year holds for our Equestrian Team!
